BIOGRAPHY
Maisah Mae is a Louisville-based vocalist, lyricist, and storyteller whose work is rooted in performance, emotion, and artistic versatility. With over a decade of formal vocal training, she has developed a dynamic voice shaped across multiple genres, including classical, musical theater, jazz, pop, rock, and a cappella.
She began her artistic journey as a Vocal Major at duPont Manual High School, where she refined her technique and stage presence before continuing her education at Murray State University. There, she earned a degree in Music Business with a minor in Recording Techniques and a continued focus on voice, blending creative performance with industry knowledge.
Maisah’s performance background is both competitive and collaborative. She has earned multiple awards through the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) in both classical and musical theater performance, demonstrating her technical skill and interpretive strength at the high school and collegiate level. As a member of the a cappella group EQ Blu, she competed regionally, helping lead the group to a third-place finish in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). Her experience also spans numerous musical theater productions, as well as three years as a lead vocalist of the rock band CME (Commercial Music Ensemble), where she cultivated a powerful stage presence and a connection to live audiences.
Beyond traditional performance, Maisah has explored immersive and experiential art, including work as a scare actor in one of Louisville’s most famous haunted attractions and a season with Live Nation, further expanding her experience in audience engagement and entertainment environments.
In addition to performing, Maisah has worked in Artist & Repertoire (A&R) with companies in California, focusing on talent scouting, artist development, and branding. This experience sharpened her ability to identify compelling voices and shape artistic identities, skills she now applies to her own creative work.
Today, Maisah is channeling her artistic foundation into writing her debut novel, THE SOUND OF DROWNING, reconnecting with her voice through storytelling and creation. Her work reflects a deep belief that emotion is the core of all powerful art, whether expressed through song, performance, or the written word. As she continues to evolve creatively, she remains driven by the desire to create work that resonates, connects, and leaves a lasting impression on her readers.
